JAIPUR: A case has been registered against a maulvi by father of three minor girls, for allegedly indulging in obscene behaviour with them under the garb of ‘cleansing them of demonic possession’ in Hanumangarh.

The girls aged 7, 8 and 13, reportedly informed their parents about it once the accused left their house. The maulvi is on the run.

Bahadur Singh, SHO, Mahila Thana, Hanumangarh said, “The maulvi was called to their house by the parents themselves, where he allegedly behaved obscenely with the three minors. He is a local man and known to the family. After he left, the girls complained to the parents, who immediately came to us.”

Both the accused and the complainants are from Dahlia village in Hanumangarh district. Police had called the accused for questioning, but he is currently absconding.

“We have got to know that he has run away to Jodhpur and we are doing everything to trace him at the earliest. The women constables spoke to the three girls as well to get to the bottom of the matter and initially, investigation revealed that he tried to touch them inappropriately,” added the police officer.
