Peace campaigners reach Kashi | Varanasi News


Varanasi: Two social activists from Chennai have reached Varanasi with their peace campaign ‘My dream of India and my dream of world’.
TN Sridharan, a practicing corporate legal adviser and his companion R Govindrajan are meeting people and urging theme to raise their voice for their rights. They have also submitted a memorandum regarding the basic rights of people to local office of the PM.
“Though India attained independence seven decades ago, but people are still reeling under problems like poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment,” said Sridharan, a practicing corporate legal adviser. For every citizen to get basic rights, it is necessary that all people should unite and raise voice, he added. Sridharan said that the campaign journey began on May 4 and reached Varanasi via Hyderabad, Nagpur and Jabalpur. “Now we are proceeding to Delhi to give our memorandum to the PMO along with a prayer,” he said.
The four-page memorandum includes appeal for solution to unemployment, water problem and terrorism. Besides, appeal for unity and practising yoga for a peaceful life is also included in the memorandum.
