Patna University: May 23 last date for admission form submission | Patna News

PATNA: Patna University (PU) has revised its admission schedule for all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses.
According to a PU notification issued on Tuesday, the last date for online submission of forms for admission to BA, BSc and BCom (honours) programmes and MA, MSc and MCom courses, both under the conventional and self-financing modes, has now been extended till May 23.
As per the previous notification, the last date for online submission of forms was to end on Wednesday, but a decision to extend the last date was taken due to late publication of results of Class XII and graduation exams conducted by different boards and universities. “Several students and their guardians had been demanding extension of the last date of online submission of admission forms,” said PU sources.
The dates of entrance tests for admission to UG courses have also been revised accordingly. Admit cards can be downloaded from the PU website three days prior to the date of an entrance test.
The process of admission in PG departments and constituent colleges began on April 2 with online submission of application forms. Admission to the three-year degree courses will be made on the basis of entrance tests, while that for conventional PG courses will be done on the basis of marks secured in the last qualifying examination. However, admission to the PG courses under self-financing mode will be made on the basis of entrance tests to be organized by the respective departments.
PU has received approximately 34,000 applications for various courses, including three-year BA, BCom and BSc courses and two-year PG courses till date. With the extension of date of submission of forms, the number of applications is likely to cross 40,000.
As per the schedule released by PU, the last date for admission to all the UG and PG courses, both under the conventional and self-financing modes, is July 9. The induction meet of the newly-admitted students will be held between July 10 and 15 and classes of the next academic session will start from July 16.
