Mohali: Nine gang members arrested, 10 stolen vehicles recovered | Chandigarh News


MOHALI: Police here busted a gang of two-wheeler lifters with the arrest of nine persons and recovered around ten stolen two-wheeler from their possession. This is the third recovery of stolen vehicles in last ten days.

The arrest was made by Gharuan police and following the arrest, ten motorcycles and a mobile phone which were stolen from various places were recovered. Regarding this, a case has been registered in Gharuan police station.

The accused have been identified as Sani, a resident of Rurki village, Lavpreet Singh, a resident of Rurki village, Rajvir Singh, a resident of Gharuan, Golu Kumar, a resident of Kharar, Gursewak alias Ladi, a resident of Barha village in Samana, Balwinder Singh, a resident of Khanpur village and Gurpreet Singh, a resident of village Hasanpur.

Two accused were minors and were sent to juvenile home. Cops said earlier they had arrested three suspects who further revealed names of their associates. Following their arrest, a case under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC was registered at Gharuan police station.

Earlier on April 6, police had recovered eight luxury cars and a scooter from a gang of hi-tech thieves who used electronic devices to carry out thefts.
