MC zonal chief transferred | Ludhiana News

Ludhiana: MC zonal commissioner Jasdev Sekhon, who was transferred to Hoshiarpur on Tuesday, took charge on Wednesday. Officials are tight-lipped about the transfer, but sources revealed that a complaint was filed against him by RTI activist Rashpal Gabria in February and March. Following the complaint, transfer orders were issued by principal secretary to the local bodies department A Venu Prasad on Tuesday evening, and MC Commissioner KP Brar relieved him from duty immediately.
However, Brar did not mention about any complaint, but only said the transfer was done due to administrative reasons, and all duties assigned to Sekhon were given to MC secretary Neeraj Jain, who took charge as the MC zonal commissioner Notably, the complaint against Sekhon mentioned that he had close relations with Congress leaders, especially cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu. The demand for his transfer was raised by saying he was helping Congress leaders in the elections. Meanwhile, secretary Neeraj Jain joined as MC zonal commissioner (Zone C) on Wednesday.
