JAC declares results for Class VIII board exam | Ranchi News


Ranchi: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) declared the results for Class VIII board examination on Tuesday in the new grade-based format. Of the 4,89,858 students who appeared for the examination, 13.91% (68,131) students scored A+ grade while 30.32% (1,48,517) students scored. Apart from that, 22.73% (1,11,338) students scored B while 17.62% (86,333) scored grade C and 15.42% (75,533) scored grade D, which is the marginal score in the examination.

“We have introduced grade-based results for the first time in Class VIII. The students had answered multiple choice question (MCQ)-based paper of 100 marks,” JAC chairman Arvind Prasad Singh said.

Hazaribag emerged as the best performing district with 91.41% pass percentage (students scoring above 33% marks) while Ranchi came a close second with a pass percentage of 90.06%.

“We plan to declare both matriculation and intermediate results in May,” JAC secretary Mahip Kumar Singh said.
