Health managers in 5 blocks to lose job | Patna News

PATNA: State Health Society-Bihar (SHSB), a wing of the health department, on Wednesday asked the civil surgeons and district magistrates (DMs) of Begusarai, Madhepura, Samastipur, East Champaran and West Champaran to terminate the contractual appointment of five block health managers for not providing the ‘102 free ambulance service’ to pregnant women.
In a letter sent to the civil surgeons and five DMs, SHSB executive director Manoj Kumar has asked them to terminate the contract of block health managers of Ramnagar (West Champaran), Teghra (Begusarai), Turkaulia (East Champaran), Kumarkhand (Madhepura) and Vithan (Samastipur) in the next 15 days on the charges of dereliction of duty and not obeying senior officers.
The SHSB had earlier reviewed the performance of ambulance service in these five blocks and asked the block health managers to make efforts to improve the services. But they could not improve the situation and the average trip per ambulance per day was reported 2.4 to 3.1 in these five blocks in March 2019.
