Discos, dhabas not to run after midnight | Chandigarh News

MOHALI: In wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019, district magistrate-cum-deputy commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, has put a ban on the operation of discotheques, dhabas, restaurants, clubs and other recreational places after midnight in Mohali. The orders have been issued by the DC on Saturday.

In the notice issued on Saturday, Sapra stated that the orders will remain in force till May 10, 2019. The orders also read that none of the roadside vendors will be allowed to operate from midnight to 6am the following day.

She added that the owners will be responsible to ensure that there are no violations of the NDPS Act on their premises. The private security staff deployed by the owners should be told to not allow anybody to carry objectionable substance inside the discotheques. It was also added that no business will be run without a valid license. She said, “The customers will not be allowed to enter without identity cards.”

Since there has been a rise in recent cases of breach of security, Sapra said owners will have to get CCTV cameras installed at entrance and other prominent places.
